Dr. Ariane Neumann becomes a member of the board of the Joachim Herz Foundation

Dr. Ariane Neumann (45) will become a member of the Executive Board of the non-profit Joachim Herz Foundation in Hamburg on June 1, 2024.

She succeeds Dr. Nina Lemmens, who left the foundation in March 2023. The three-member Executive Board of the Joachim Herz Stiftung is thus complete again. The other members of the Executive Board are Chairwoman Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. Sabine Kunst and Ulrich Müller, Chief Financial and Investment Officer.

Ariane Neuman has been responsible for strategy development at the Joachim Herz Stiftung as Strategy Officer since June 2023. Prior to this, she held various strategic and operational positions in university management in Berlin, Hamburg and Erfurt since 2006. Neumann most recently headed the Presidential Department and the Strategy Department at the University of Hamburg and played a key role in the university's successful application in the Excellence Competition.

She holds a doctorate in political science and studied modern German literature, political science and modern history at Freie Universität Berlin, Washington University in St. Louis and the Université de Caen.

"We are very pleased that, after a demanding process in which we were accompanied by an external consultant and held numerous interviews with highly interesting candidates, we are now able to appoint such a competent and experienced personality to the Executive Board in Dr. Neumann. We are convinced that she will be associated with a dynamic development of the foundation," said Dr. Henneke Lütgerath, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Joachim Herz Foundation.
