Promoting Intercultural Exchange Between Young Professionals
Our program „Azubis USA“ offer vocational students (Azubis/apprentices) from Germany and college students from the U.S. the opportunity to gain professional experience abroad.
Are you from Germany and and interested in traveling to the USA during your vocational training to gain international experience? Our exchange program offers exactly that opportunity.
Reasons to Participate
Only around five percent of all vocational trainees spend part of their apprenticeship abroad, even though there are many good reasons to do so. A stay abroad:
- improves foreign language skills
- provides insights to the international job market
- strengthens personal and professional development
- promotes understanding of political contexts and transatlantic relations
- extends your (professional) network
- increases self-confidence
Application
Basic requirements: Trainees who meet the following criteria are welcome to apply:
- At the time of departure, they are at least 18 and no more than 27 years old and are still in training.
- They are completing their training in one of the following regions: Bavaria, Berlin, the Hamburg metropolitan region, Schleswig-Holstein, or Saxony.
- They have sufficient English skills.
- They have little or no experience abroad.
The application phase is now closed.
Scolarship Content
The scholarship includes:
- Organization of a course at a college
- Preparation and follow-up seminars
- Cultural program
- Return flight to the USA
- Costs and organization of accommodation
- International health insurance
- Monthly allowance for educational expenses during the stay
- Personal and professional support on site
To be covered by the applicants individually:
- Meal costs in the USA
- Costs for obtaining a new passport
- Travel costs to the selection interview
- Travel costs to events in your own state
