Investment in technology company Weidmüller

Joachim Herz Foundation holds around 20 percent of the shares.

Weidmüller, a global leader in electrical connectivity and automation, has been owned by the Gläsel family for nearly 100 years. It has continuously transformed while preserving the traditions of a family business. With the Joachim Herz Foundation, Weidmüller gains an investor and partner who shares its values in education, research, sustainability, and social responsibility.

"Our foundation promotes applied research projects and specifically invests in technology companies. Weidmüller is a globally well-positioned company that sets standards with its products and innovations. We see great potential in this investment," emphasizes Ulrich Müller, Member of the Executive Board of the Joachim Herz Foundation. Christian Gläsel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and spokesperson of the owning family, adds: "With the Joachim Herz Foundation, we have found a co-investor who shares our vision and values. This partnership allows us to accelerate our growth pace and expand our international activities."

Long-term perspective and sustainable focus

The collaboration is designed for the long term, with a particular focus on future markets and innovative solutions for electrification, automation, and digitalization. "The targets of the Joachim Herz Foundation and Weidmüller's strategic approaches complement each other excellently. We have a common understanding of how innovation positively impacts society and the environment," Gläsel further states.

Strong commitment to education and sustainability

Both partners are committed to education: For the Joachim Herz Foundation, it is the basis of a free society, and for Weidmüller, it is the basis for successful corporate development. The Weidmüller Academy and the initiatives of the Peter Gläsel Foundation ideally align with the core principles of the Joachim Herz Foundation. The same applies to climate protection and sustainability: Both Weidmüller as an industrial provider and user, and the Joachim Herz Foundation as a promoter and investor, emphasize these priorities.
