Joachim Herz House opens in Georgia
Our new learning center for transatlantic dialog is available to non-profit organizations.
The Joachim Herz Foundation has opened the Joachim Herz House in Covington, Georgia. This learning center is designed to become a hub for transatlantic dialog in the southeastern U.S. With nearly 5,000 square feet of flexible event space, it can host up to 50 participants for conferences and workshops. Non-profit organizations, transatlantic groups, foundations, and partners of the foundation can use the facility free of charge.
“The transatlantic dialog was important to our founder Joachim Herz and is still essential for the work of our foundation. The Joachim Herz House is a key hub for fostering a vibrant dialog between the United States and Germany. By establishing this facility, we want to become an integral part of academic and civil society networks in the southeastern United States,” states Sabine Kunst, Chair of the Management Board of the Joachim Herz Foundation.
State-of-the-Art Venue for Conferences and Workshops
Located at 301 Moores Road in Covington, the facility offers modern technical equipment and a flexible layout, accommodating diverse groups such as students and researchers. It is designed for day use, with accommodations available in nearby Covington. The center will serve as a venue for discussing key issues in business, science, education, and civil society, promoting collaboration between German and American participants.
From Private Home to Sustainable Learning Hub
Originally the residence of t Joachim Herz, who built a real estate business in the southeastern U.S., the house has been sustainably renovated. Certified with the EarthCraft label from the Southface Institute, the building showcases eco-friendly construction, spearheaded by Jones Pierce Architects, and aims to set a benchmark for sustainable development in the Atlanta region.
